Reg MBACP, MBPsS
My counselling career started with my bachelor degree in Psychological Services in Education overseas in 1997. I had provided various psychological Services in the business and education sectors for 5 years. During my work I took various roles in Human Resources projects, I provided low intensity therapeutic interventions to children, young people, their parents and also individual adults. I ran learning and encounter groups for parents. I am a psychology and counselling graduate , a fully qualified professional psychotherapist and counsellor with a particular interest in Object Relations in Analytical Psychology and it’s integration with other models especially Humanistic Counselling Models and CBT.
I have been in private practice for over 7 years, working with individual adults, young people, children and groups. Additional to these I had 4 years experience in the voluntary sector during my Advance Diploma in Counselling study in the U.K.
As part of the professional preparation undertaken for this kind of work I have undergone hundreds of hours of my own personal therapeutic process individually and as part of a group. From this foundation I have developed a professional style that is skilled, objective, compassionate and sensitively attuned to each individual client.
My entrance into the counselling/psychotherapy profession has been a result of my own personal journey and training over the past 18 years. I believe that a practitioner is best placed to deal with the suffering and distress of others by not only having undergone sound theoretical training but also via thorough knowledge of themselves.
I hold Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling, Bachelor Degree in Psychological Services in Education.
I am a Registered Member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to the BACP ethical framework and guidelines. I am also a psychology Graduate Member of British Psychology Society (MBPsS).
I simply love working as a counsellor with young people and adults. I have been working with East and West Berkshire NHS/ IAPT Talking Therapies for 2 years and also offering short-long term, high quality therapy/ counselling services to communities of Yateley and Wokingham in my private practice.
I always aim to provide emotional support to people in a helpful, compassionate, caring and respectful manner.
My experience covers a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, gender/ gender identity issues, low self esteem/self confidence, parenting difficulties, work related stress e.g. I have particular interest and experience in cross cultural marriages and complex step families.
I offer an accepting, safe and professional environment in which to explore your concerns and find effective ways of moving forward.
